Install the switch — 8 Switch
Before you start
- Switch off the main power at the MCB before you start. Keep it off until the glass is fitted.
- Have a qualified electrician do the installation. Take extra care when connecting phase and neutral wires.
- You need an 8 module metal box, 233mm x 78mm (9"x3"), plus a flat-headed screwdriver and the console screws from the box.
- Light switches: up to 6A resistive each, one light or fan per switch — never in series or parallel. LED/CFL: max 40W per switch.
- High load (H): up to 16A resistive. LED strips: 240V mains only, never 12V or 24V. Two-way detection wire: only between two iotics devices.

Remove the front glass
Use a flat-headed screwdriver to gently lift the front glass panel off the switch module.

Connect neutral and power
Follow the wiring drawing. Connect neutral to N. Connect phase from EB or UPS to P1, and from EB to P2.
To keep UPS and EB loads separate, connect P1 to UPS and P2 to EB. No separation needed? Loop P1 and P2 and connect them to EB or UPS.

Connect your lights and appliances
Connect each load wire to its terminal: L1–L4 = your lights, F = fan, D = dimmer light, H = high load.
P1 powers F, D, L1 and L2. P2 powers L3, L4 and H. Each L takes up to 6A; H up to 16A.

Connect the two-way switch
Connect your UPS or EB phase to P3. Connect T1 or T2 (two-way terminals) to the other end of your two-way switch.
Connect the two-way detection wire only between two iotics devices. With Two-Way Load Detection on, wire the load exactly as drawn, or two-way switching may not work.

Fix the module to the box
Use the console screws from the box to fix the switch module to the metal box.
Before you fix it, check that every copper wire end is tightly twisted inside its terminal.

Fit the glass and switch on
Clip the front glass back onto the switch module. Then switch the main power back on.
If touch does not respond after you fit the glass, switch the main power off and on again. Fitting the glass changes the touch capacitance.
