When the motor runs

In Auto Mode the controller watches two places, the underground sump and the overhead tank. The motor turns on only when the sump water level is high and the tank water level is low.

Sump high, tank low: the motor turns on. Sump high, tank high: off. Sump low, tank low: off. Sump low, tank high: off.

So the motor starts when the tank is low and stops when the tank is full, and it stays off whenever the sump is low.
